Sunday Stuff

Thought i would fancy some multis tonight but again i was wrong. Played cash earlier and alongside the 1 multi tonight. $50k freeroll and i ended up 33rd/750 for $180 after losing consectutive pots: 33 vs 75std and Q10 vs 96 . Shame as decent payouts at top but blinds very fast and luck a big factor so not to be. Anyway cash was a different story, lost a chunk on ladbrokes only on 1,2$ but made about $900 on the day all from ipoker network on 2,4$. Running well but also making some good decisions and bets to cash in. Not sure what if any i will play post 9pm but need a break so mansion is a no. Earlier i also missed the $250k on ipoker which had a huge overlay of about 33% but it was $430 to enter so maybe it was a blessing given how bored i got in the freeroll one. I will update later if i do play any other games.

Went back for some more and made $250 or so within a couple of hours but fell short of the 10th place or better required in the $500k sub finishing 46th/450 when AQ ran into KK.

On another subject ive seen on Amatays blog (see link added) there are details of how to watch late night poker ace from July 2005 which he was also in. Anyone wanting to watch me getting busted by the eventual winner (a complete beginnner calling station btw) go to:

http://www.partypoker.tv/

Click on "Watch PartyPoker TV Now!"
Click on "Archive"
Click on "Late Night Poker Ace"
Click on "Episode 6" and im in seat 4

Enjoy and laugh all you like, this was huge for me at the time but it funny to look back now and know it was the beginning of much larger things :)

Hello m8, i've just seen your your comments on my blog. Cheers for the link. So, hows poker been treating you since LNPA? What games/sites etc do you typical play?

Oh yeah and that fish who busted you out was horrible lol. He was soooo poor both in the heat and the final and he won the whole thing didn't he?? I bet you still have nightmares about that Q5 don't you.

My mate and i like to name starting hands and Q5std will forever be known as "john shaw". Its impossible to not think of him when i see the hand now so i just laugh when i get dealt it !

I dont tend to be loyal to 1 particular site. Currently play a lot on the ipoker network (usually blue square), but play plenty others too including mansion which has provided 3/4 of my profit this year and a trip to vegas !

Poker has provided me with more income than ever, more time to do what i want when i want and of course the fun of being my own boss. I still manage to see too many negatives and moan about a lot of stuff, especially on here to get things off my chest but overall the last couple of years have been great.

I will try and get round to reading your blog, i guess you are full time player also so should be interesting read.

Nice one. My blog in just abit of fun partly about my poker exploits mixed in with a few 'funny' stories. I dont play for a living as yet although i only work PT in my day job now. How long you been playing FT. Also i know its alittle rude but roughly how much dough do you make from playing pokes. I look forward to reading your blog. Simon

Nah not rude at all, i actually post monthly profit (or loss) on here every month. This blog keeps me sane and bankroll management is as important as the poker itself imo. Im yet to have a losing month (touch wood) and ive been full time since August 1st 2005 (the week after LNPA !). Since then ive made £120,000 to date. I wont go into detail as its all in the blog somewhere.

Jeez £120k is pretty good goin. Ive made about $100k nowhere near as much. What games do you typically play? Have you won some biggish tourns?

$100k is v v good if u only part time. i prob dont play as high as i should, prefer to sub for bigger games rather than buy in.
multis direct buyins 90% would b £22-£109
cash 1,2$ up to 5,10$ NL but mainly 2,4$NL
sit and go, $33-$215 but hardly play with exception of jackpot chase this month.

big wins:
£30,000 5th/1727 $640 Party Oct 2005
£10-£12k each the following:
13th/252 CPC 2005
581st/8000+ WSOP 2006
1st/500ish Mansion last month

Nice 1. What are the games like on these sites like blue sq and mansion. I 've played most of my pokes mutli tabelling the $1/2 cash games on PP, but the games on there have been getting tougher recently, theres lots of TAGS and not so many donks. Got any suggestions?

Robert "Animal" Price said...

Mansion doesnt have many cash games but as u may b aware has a huge daily overlay multi which has plenty of subs to it if $109 direct is a lot. I dont have rakeback but u should be able to get 36% through link on my blog, mention my name as referral in sign up email if u choose that option.
As for blue sq and the whole ipoker network i think its shocking standard cash or multis, u may struggle to get rakeback but if u dont ask u dont get so i would try anyway.
Dont b afraid to try different sites, ive got far to many accounts but theres so many networks to choose from its worth experimenting for sure.
