Following on from the previous posts i havent played and ive arranged to do stuff both evenings left of the month so i doubt i will be tempted to play at all until March. Also a full couple of days away from the tables can only be a good thing. My love/hate relationship with poker has taken to a new level this month. Split the month in half again and i had an excellent first half which i thoroughly enjoyed and a boring meaningless second half where i might as well have not been playing. Im amazed just how bored i got of the game the last 2 weeks and i have no idea why exactly. Lack of goals ? Lack of effort due to complacency ? Lack of enjoyment due to how much i enjoyed vegas ? I just hope a new calendar month makes a difference to my motivation and enjoyment (obviously it shouldnt matter but my laziness makes me think it is the route cause).
Ok onto the figures to which i made £2860 profit , although interestingly my rakeback is only 55% of January. Bad choice of games and general attitude for last 2 weeks, a shorter month and obviously a live game away all being factor is such a large reduction in time spent playing. Anyway figures wise thats my worst month since July 2006 which i guess is not a good sign. As with all poker stories though if i look at the full picture with a bit more luck i could have made £20,000 cash but with a bit less i could have gone into a slight loss !
Zero targets for March at this time. Just remember to think carefully about which games i will enjoy before entering them and if im not gonna enjoy a game, dont play it.

Poor poor animal. He's fallen out with poker. He's bored, complacent and having a spell of not enjoying it...
FFS get a grip. You are £8k up for the year and have had a free holiday. You can do what you like when you like and have fuck all responsibility or serious committments. £4k a month net in the real world is like having a salary of over £80000 a year. For that you often have to work your bollocks off. Most of the time you dont enjoy it and it bores the arse off you. You have little free time to play pool or golf or spend days in bed with hangovers. Basically you are in a very fortunate position and never forget it. You are fucking talented at poker - no doubt about that at all. So if it gets you down just don't play. You will soon feel re-charged.
Thanks anonymous = ? Pete ?
Love your blog mate. Been readin it for ages but never made a comment.
Maybe you should try getting drunk and play 2c/4c (or something more in your low stake region). Its really good fun when you win all the time. Especially when you're drunk and dont have much to lose. lol. Keep it up dude!
yeh i do sometimes play tiny stakes to muck around, usually when someone i know is doing the same. I will see, at moment im enjoying the time away from the tables and may play again from thursday, but im out friday and sunday so play will be quite limited till next week for sure. I definitely have just been playing too much, maybe not in hours, but in the sense of playing every day, which is daft cos i always used to have a day or 2 off a week. Maybe because i play a lot more cash and its not at set times ive not given myself enough full days off lately.
PS: DVD arrived from mansion, great i can watch myself lose and count how many chins i have on tv.
